잔이 거의

넘칠 지경인데도

아직 빈 약간의 공간마저

채우려고 애쓰는 사람들이 있다.

잔이 거반

비어 있는 상태인데도

아직은 남아 있는 약간의 것을

즐거워하고 감사하는 사람들이 있다.

어느 쪽이 더 지혜로운가

불평 불만인가 감사인가

파란 가을 하늘 아래 춤추는

들꽃을 보면 답을 알게 될 거다.

빈잔을 더 채우고자 하는 모습이 바로 육신의 욕심인 것을 보게 되며 

오늘도 없는 것에 아쉬워하는 인생이 아닌 이미 받은 것, 주신 것, 가진 것에 

감사를 올려드리는 삶이 되기를 소망합니다!

Seeing the desire to fill an already full cup,
I realize that it is the greed of the flesh.
Today, I hope to live not in regret
for what I lack,
but in gratitude
for what I have already received,
for what has been given,
for what I possess.

May your day overflow with gratitude rather than fleshly desire.
